I cooked Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcakes on Thursday night. It was an amazing recipe that I found in a magazine and the voices in my head would not let me rest until I made them. I was so enthusiastic about it that I went to the store at 10:30pm on Wednesday night to purchase the peanut butter ingredients. Then I made my home teacher slave in the kitchen with me on Thursday evening while I made a triple batter. Liz was supportive and I imagine a bit frustrated with my messes. I tried to clean up in the end, but was late to work the next morning and just didn't have time to clean it all. In an attempt to apologize for my manic cooking, I wrote Liz a poem:
This is Just to Say
I carelessly left
trash bags in the
hallway and dishes
in the kitchen sink
this morning
and you probably
were still tired
from cleaning my mess
last night
Forgive me
I am lazy and inconsiderate;
and a slave to the cooking
voices in my head,
so strong and so convincing
An inspiring friend
