Ruff's pancakes

My mom's grandfather was Guy Rufus Anderson and I never met him, but I am in love with his pancake recipe.  The recipe will not be shared outside the family, but my mom enjoys making the batter for special occasions and Los Olivos house guests.  This weekend she literally whipped up a large batch to feed the 12 extra guests who pretend camped in her backyard.  She and I cooked the batter into pancakes, waffles and ableskievers.  Some of our guests had not had ableskievers before so I taught them the art of turning and cooking the perfect little Danish balls.  8 year old Ana proved her worth as a cook when she helped me season and cook the Tri Tip BBQ the night before, so she got a skewer and turned three batches of abelskievers herself in the morning.  Bronson was intrigued by the three turn process and he too turned a batch until the other kids pulled his attention away.
If you come visit me I will pull out the secret recipe and afterwards you too will be a Ruff lover.
